Who We Are
The Gaylord Gators Swim Club is an independent, not for profit competitive swim team, managed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our team is a member of the Michigan Team Swim League (MTSL).
We are "age-group competitive," so swimmers are grouped by actual age - 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18. Boys compete against boys, and girls compete against girls.
Swimmers may compete in MTLS dual meets (against another MTLS team either at the Sportsplex or away), invitational meets, the MTLS Championship Meet & MTSL State Meet.
Where We Practice
Practices and home swim meets are held at the Otsego County Sportsplex. Two sessions of swimming are offered: Fall and Winter.
Why We Do It
The purpose of the Gators Swim club is to instill self-confidence by setting and working toward individual goals and personal-best times. To compete with other teams by each contributing our personal best. To teach good sportsmanship, teamwork, and self-discipline. To create and enjoy enthusiasm, camaraderie, and a life-long love of swimming.
